The client on this project wanted a high spec large modern bungalow with a focus on accessibility through the house. The client was also keen for the building to provide natural lighting wherever possible. We answered the brief by designing a bungalow that emulated a barn conversion, this would allow us to create higher vaulted ceilings which would enhance the room spaces within, without creating a large building footprint. We designed floor to ceiling bay windows to take full advantage of natural lighting and also enhance the sense of space and volume within. Externally the use of slate stone and zinc allowed us to merge the modern design with the classic features our client was looking for.
