Our brief on this project was to rejuvenate an existing early 1980’s bungalow on a large site in a prominent suburban setting. The majority of the surrounding properties are large two storey family homes. We took our cue from this and with the client’s approval proceeded to redesign the property from a bungalow to a large 5 bedroom 3 storey property, this would be more in keeping with the existing surroundings and allow the client to imprint their unique sense of style and multi-generation family into their new home. We moved all the bedrooms to the first floor and added an office and playroom within the loft/ 2^nd floor. On the ground floor, we kept the existing kitchen and existing living room. However, we added a second reception, a study, a new pantry and a WC. We also re-organised the front entrance to create a grand hallway/ lobby space, with a double-height glazed atrium to give the updated property a much need facelift.
